    Two holiday events coming up

    Two bluegrass events take place on next week’s Bank Holiday Monday, August 30th.
    Appleby Bluegrass Day will be held in the village of Appleby Magna, Leicestershire, and will feature workshops (for banjo, guitar, mandolin and fiddle), jam sessions and a concert. Bands appearing include Doghouse Central, Bluegrass Revue, Salmagundi and Phantom Horse.

    Surrey celebrates 10 years

    The 10th Anniversary Surrey Mini Bluegrass Festival will take place on 7th and 8th August.

    New picking weekend for October

    Details of a new picking weekend in North Wales have been announced.
    The Conwy Mountain Autumn Bluegrass Picking Weekend will take place in the village of Tal-y-Bont between October 1st and 3rd.

    The Down County Boys have announced details of a new bluegrass club in the village of Whitwick, Leicestershire.

    The 9th Suffolk Bluegrass Day takes place on Sunday, May 23rd.
    The event kicks off at 11.30am with picking sessions and includes an afternoon concert with performances from The Carrivick Sisters and The Dude Coopers (pictured).

    Festival season starts at Orwell

    The 2010 festival season begins next week with the Orwell Bluegrass Festival near Ipswich.
