2nd Bristol Bluegrass Day
The 2nd Bristol Bluegrass Day takes place on March 6th in the city’s Folk House venue.
The day will be a mixture of workshops and jamming, concluding with an evening concert that will feature Shoot the Breese, Hog Ranch, New Essex Bluegrass Band and The Thunderbridge Bluegrass Boys (pictured).
The workshops will be led by John Breese (banjo) and Greg Smith (fiddle) - both will be 3 hours long and cost £20. Jamming will take place in the venue’s cafe bar in the afternoon, with the concert kicking off at 7.30pm. Full details of the day can be found on the event flyer (PDF).
On the previous night (5th March), the bluegrass musical Fat Shirley’s: A Trailer Park Opera, will be staged at the same venue. This show has previously run in Bristol, Bath and London, and features a full bluegrass band alongside the main cast.
