Birthday giveaway
ukbluegrass was launched in November 2006. To celebrate our
first birthday we gave away assorted ukbluegrass goodies
plus a selection of CDs that showcase a year in British bluegrass.

The CDs
These CDs represent a year in British bluegrass with a selection of 2007 releases from top British names. Also included is The Cool Mandolin Company's An American Tradition.
Papa Truck Papa Truck
These guys hail from the bluegrass hotbed of High Wycombe and this is their debut release.
They have a wide range of influences from The Beatles to Van Halen and George Formby to Union Station, which combine to create

Thunderbridge Bluegrass Boys The Moon Shines Still
This band from Somerset have only been around a few years but are already established as one of the most popular
groups on the festival scene. Their original songs, combined with some of the finest vocal harmonies around, have earned them a
dedicated following both within the bluegrass scene and beyond. Visit website >>
Howard Burton Britain by Bluegrass
Howard has been involved in British bluegrass for many years, and has played in some of the country's best bands. He currently
plays with Deep River. He produced this solo album to celebrate 20 years of playing banjo and bluegrass. It features some of the best British
pickers and singers around today including Bob Winquist, Dan Norton and Paul Hill.

Daily Planet Daily Planet Live
Daily Planet are not your average bluegrass band, fusing the music with Celtic, rock and jazz to produce
a completely unique sound. Led by Leon Hunt on banjo, the band have existed for over a decade and played festivals all
over the world. This is their first release in many years and is a great example of their talent and creativity.

Cool Mandolin Company An American Tradition
The Cool Mandolin Company was set up in 2006 to promote the instrument and fund mandolin scholarships.
"An American Tradition" features playing from some of the best mandolin players in the US, Canada and the UK
including Justin Moses, Sierra Hull, Simon Mayor, Ben Winship and Andrew Collins. You'll hear all sort of genres, such
as bluegrass and newgrass, folk, jazz and Celtic.
