I've heard a few bluegrass bands quote Smoke On The Water in their arrangements (and it usually is 'arranged', where the whole band quote it, rather than just a soloist throwing it in) - does anyone have any other favourite musical quotes they like to use in solos?

I know it's almost become a cliche in jazz circles to throw The Flintstones into I Got Rhythm (or any of the other standards that use Rhythm Changes).

Er, come to think of it, I should have probably started a different thread. Doh!

In the "stop" in the middle of the B part in Groundspeed I usually play the melody for the line that goes "I've got a brand new combine harvester". I don't think Tony Trischka recognised when I played it to him...

I put the opening line of Scotland the Brave in there. For some reason.

I've heard The Simpsons theme tune worked into Orange Blossom Special - can't remember who did it though, it was either Becky Buller or the Lluis Gomez band (and whichever one didn't do it put something else entirely into the same tune...).

The banjo sounds like Ben Eldridge, so is it the Seldom Scene?
