Birmingham bluegrass sessions?

If you run a session or are looking for people to pick with please post here

Postby millajuk » Tue Dec 04, 2007 10:02 am

THERE'S BEEN PROGRESSION!

Everyone, we're organising a session in Moseley, Birminham next Tuesday. It's a kind of trial run to see how many people are interested in the area so it would be great if people could come down for a pick. I'm trying to get a rough number so that we are able to go ahead so if you think you can make it, please send me a personal message on this. If we haven't got enough numbers it might not go ahead, but I'll let everyone know. COME ON BIRMINGHAM!

It's Tues 11th December at the Old Moseley Arms in Tindal Street, 100 yards off A435

The more the merrier!

It's very easy to get to from inside or outside Birmingham. From J3 off the M42 follow the A435 towards the city centre for 6 or 7 miles. Take the 5th left turn off the A435 after the B4217 crosses it, into Edgbaston Road, then first right into Tindal Street. It is a quiet cul de sac with plenty of parking in the road outside the pub.

There are traffic lights where you turn off the A435 and a big modern blue building on the corner there, tho not sure how obvious that is in the dark.

Coming out of town you'll have to sort yourselves out but http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/ ... sall_Heath is a site about the pub and http://www.streetmap.co.uk/newmap.srf?x ... 8&z=0&ar=Y is a street map showing where it is.

I'm hoping for an early start, say 8-8.30

Hi Paul
Mick (Banjo) here spoke to you earlier today on the phone and took your advice and joined on here.Glad to hear that you are interested in sorting something out in the new year about a get together/possible band formation. Will speak to you if and when I hear more.

Hello all,

The next Birmingham session is going to be on Monday 14th January at the same pub as before, the Old Moseley Arms in Moseley, Birmingham. It was real good fun last time so hopefully see y'all down there again plus some new faces. It's easy to find, both from within town itself or whether you're coming from elsewhere in the midlands, but if you have a look at previous messages above you can find directions.

Keep pickin' See ya then!

Aaaaaaaaaagh.

Why is it that even tho' they are few and far between, bluegrass sessions, when they do come up, always clash with another?

Monday Jan 14th is the date for the pickin' session at Hammerwich!

Sorry Dave - I obviously didn't do my research properly. I'm trying to get this session a regular thing so if and when that happens I'll try and get it on a day that doesn't clash with any others!

Same as before, 8-8.30pm start folks.
