Sorry, did you just say that watery Carlsberg stuff is more expensive than Heineken? When did that happen? Or do you mean the genuine Danish stuff in which case I'd be tempted to have a stab at Manchicken myself. And what's this got to do with Hereford?

which ever way round it is, there's a warm pint of cheap lager waiting for the first person to get to the end without making a mistake (or without giving up).

Anyhow, the next one approacheth - This Wednesday, 2nd April, 8pm same place. Let's go!!

Mayday! Mayday! The next Hereford bluegrass pick is less than a week away. So in preparation for your massive picking schedule at the Wharf next weekend (see http://www.ukbluegrass.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=532) get down to the barrels and pick with us on Wed 7th May. Here are the details of where it is again (just in case you can't be arsed to flip back a page...)
The venue is:

The Barrels
69 St Owen's St.,
Hereford
HR1 2JQ

The pick is held in the new bar/functions room in the courtyard of the pub: 'The Old Brewery Bar' ( - called so for obvious reasons, as the space used to be the location of the pub's own brewery The Wye Valley Brewery, purveyors of such fine ales as Butty Bach, Hereford Pale Ale [HPA] & Wye Valley Bitter amongst others, now located in Stoke Lacy, twixt Hereford and Bromyard) The Barrels is the spiritual home of this brewery and thus there is always a choice of really good real beer on tap. Check the pub out here:

Hope to see you there on the 1st Wednesday in the Month.

Cheers, Martin

Hereford Bluegrass Pick

Postby classicheads » Tue Jun 24, 2008 3:25 pm

Hi. Just thought I'd let you guys know that we've started a Country Music and Bluegrass session at the Wheatsheaf pub at Whitbourne on the A44 between Bromyard and Worcester. You'll all be welcome if you can make it. It is on the last Tuesday of every month- start 8pm - 8.30 ish. The next one is tonight (June 24th), so that may be short notice, but if anybody reads this in time please try to make it. The one after that is July 29th. Hope to see you. Frank

Oh yes, it's here again. Tra la la! , 8pm start. Wild Bill Jones, Sally Goodin and Bill Cheatham, having partaken of Whiskey Before Breakfast and a Plastic Banana up on Jerusalem Ridge, are Sitting On Top Of The World and coming all the way from Salt Creek to be there for ya on Wed 3rd June, having then filled their shotguns with Rock, Salt & Nails and caught that White Freightliner in order to be there on time! Oh yes!! Where? At The Old Brewery Bar at The Barrels, 69 St Owen's St, Hereford. Songs and tunes galore, loads of fun!...

Rock on!

Martin
