Happy New Year and despite the awful headlines and news photographs from the middle east, I hope there are reasons to be cheerful – thank you to the late great Ian Dury – not least the imminent arrival in the White House of President Obama who, for me at least, symbolises so much hope.
Away from the world and Washington and back in Balham, I’ve changed my strings and practised my scales for the 1st session of the year in Forest Hill...but be warned, the pub’s name has been changed...it is no longer The Foresters, but:
All Inn One, 53 Perry Vale, SE23 2NE
We’ve had a great start and we look forward to welcoming any and all musicians and singers, of any level of competence and confidence, I hope you’ll find there’s a comfortable place for you to join in as you wish. Typically we have banjos, guitars, a fiddle, a double bass, resophonic guitars, mandolins, a fair smattering of singers and some dancing – including solos – from clogger Christine Bell!
It is acoustic, authentic, accessible...and fun.
Hope to see you soon, and, once again, Happy New Year
Yours in hope,
Trevor & The Sessionaires
