Well I fell for the small crawling insect on the screen. How many others have noticed this and tried to brush it off?..............................or am I seeing things?
Id rather be playing grass than cutting grass.

Didn't fool me cos I noticed it is spelling out the letters of 'Griffindude'!

Ooops! I'm a bit late this month - didn't realise the first Wednesday was actually on the 1st day of May! Hereford Bluegrass Session, constant as the northern star - in The Victory (in the back bar, assuming we aren't clashing with a skittles match), 88, St Owens St, Hereford HR1 2QD at around 8pm.

I've had a few requests for tune of the month this month and I have selected three this time:

Forked Deer (D) Great fiddle tune
See Dan Crary & Byron Berline playing it here [they modulate to a minor key later on in this tune. We ain't gonna do that]: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMyHoEbELzI
(nice haircut, Dan! )
Chords are
a part
|D |G |D |A |
|D |G |D G |A D | and repeat, then:
b part
|A |A |A |D |
|A |A |D G |A D | and repeat

Salt Spring (A) A fab John Reischman tune
Here's those lovely Irish lads (and one German) playing it at Didders last year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKG0JxmHTZc

Chords:
[Capo II]
|G |G |Am |Am Em|
|Am |Am Em|C |G |
|C G |C G |C G|D |
|C G |C G |C G|D |

Which Translates to concert:

|A |A |Bm |Bm F#m|
|Bm |Bm F#m|D |A |
|D A |D A |D A|E |
|D A |D A |D A|E |

The Ballad of Sally Ann (G) This is Roy's choice, so we're going to play it as an instrumental (2 x A; 2 x B) nice and slow.
Here's Mark O'Connor playing it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4-52uUYoK8
Chords:
||G |Em |C |G |
|G |Am |D |G || X2
||G |Am |D |G |
|G |Am |D |G || X2

Happy pickin' and seeya on May Day!

Martin :banana:

PS. I know that Mervyn is quite keen to play "Flop Eared Mule" [D&A], so we might just have a bash at that...
