We're looking forward to the event. This will be our fourth. We just need the prayer mats out for good weather. Location brilliant. Music brilliant. People brilliant.

This year our usual 'Fiddle Doctor' is not available to help peeps with their fiddle setup and so we have a 'Guitar/Mandolin Doctor' -
Matthew John Bascetta will be available.
Mathew makes hand made acoustic instruments and does expert repair and restoration work on guitars, mandolins, mandolas, bouzoukis, dulcimers, and banjos in Chester, UK

Great festival, despite the weather! The band line-up was fantastic, with each band ratcheting up the bluegrass standard:- It was my first time seeing Sharps & Flats and the New Essex Bluegrass Band and both were brilliant. S & F blew away my preconceptions & did some wonderful stuff; whilst NEBB hit the motherlode vein of traditional/authentic bluegrass... Only The Sons Of Navarone could follow that with a perfect blend of humour, harmony & top-notch pickin.

Thanks too to all the staff who IMHO went above & beyond the call of duty, dealing with the weather related issues...

And my tent survived too!

Cheers

I think that's the nearest I've been to Hell and Heaven in one weekend!
Pitching the tent under those conditions, cold and soaked to the skin was character building!
The concert on Saturday was fantastic and the weather on Sunday morning was superb.
Special thanks are due to Uppercrust, the caterers who did us proud. I hope they'll be back next year.

That was a proper flippin' STORM on Friday night. Camping in the tent was a terrifying experience - I had no idea my gazebo was so aerodynamic, because it flew a considerable distance, but the landing was catastrophic! Despite the appalling weather, the 'shows' went on and what great entertainment it was! Only three bands but what a great contrast in styles. 'Flats & Sharps' were brilliant despite their tender years - not one was over 19 years old (I hate them). 'NEBB' wowed the traditionalists and the 'Sons of Navarone' catered for every Bluegrass taste. Great music, great musicians, great humour, great suits & ties (Sons) . Plenty of pickin' and jammin'. Excellent bar ( as usual ) and the new catering people were really good. Even the mud was fun, but in retrospect I wish I hadn't had the car valeted the week before . . . . .
