What’s on: June 2019

There’s plenty to keep UK bluegrass fans busy in June, with festivals, picking weekends, and tours from US and UK bands. Follow the links to get full information about the events listed.

Festivals and picking weekends

With festival season now in full swing, there’s a choice of events scattered across Britain, including two free picking weekends in Bromsgrove and Hay-on-Wye. For those willing to travel slightly further afield, Westport Folk and Bluegrass Festival awaits in Ireland.

31st May – 2nd June: Bromsgrove Bluegrass Bash, Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.
31st May – 2nd June: Fire In The Mountain, near Aberystwyth, Wales.
7th – 9th: Westport Folk and Bluegrass Festival, Westport, County Mayo, Ireland.
14th – 16th: East Anglia Bluegrass Festival, Steeple Morden, Cambridgeshire.
20th – 24th: Tamworth Bluegrass Festival, Fillongley, near Coventry.
28th – 30th: Clyro Court Picking Weekend, Hay-on-Wye, Powys.

Tours

US bands Blue Summit and Man About A Horse visit the UK for the first time. Molsky’s Mountain Drifters‘ short tour just scrapes into this guide with their last show on 1st June.
