What’s on: October 2019

Things are starting to quieten down now that festival season is over, but you can still get your bluegrass fix this month with the following events, tours and gigs.


Summer’s over so no big festivals this month, but the Sore Fingers weekend offers two days of top quality tuition and jamming.

25th – 27th: Sore Fingers October Weekend, Kingham Hill School, Oxfordshire.


Ron Block (of Alison Krauss and Union Station) and Damien O’Kane head out on a double banjo tour in support of album Banjophony. Toronto’s Slocan Ramblers visit the UK again after a successful visit back in late 2018. Midnight Skyracer continue their autumn tour, including a stop at Manchester Folk Festival.

Molly Tuttle plays a few dates at the end of the month as part of an international tour that also includes Australia, New Zealand and The Netherlands.

24th Sep – 22nd Nov: Damien O’Kane and Ron Block (IRE/USA) View tour dates.
5th – 19th: Midnight Skyracer (UK) View tour dates.
17th – 3rd Nov: The Slocan Ramblers (CAN) View tour dates.
27th – 31st: Molly Tuttle (USA) View tour dates.


Lunch Special play at the Green Note in London (12th).

Old Baby Mackerel come close to a full on tour with gigs at The Prince Albert, Stroud (4th), No.1 Harbourside, Bristol (12th), Jamboree, London (18th), The Jago, London (19th) and The Harrison, London (20th).
